Let’s start off with the build quality before going to the most important part; sound quality.

Build Quality

As far as I’m concerned, the build quality of the speaker is great. Everything just feels solid while holding the speaker in your hand. I love the rubber on the outside of the speaker, it just gives you some extra grip while holding onto the speaker. And it may even provide some extra protection if you do end up accidentally dropping the speaker.

Sound Quality

So, what does a $30 waterproof Bluetooth speaker get you in terms of audio quality? Well, as long as you aren’t expecting top tier performance, you won’t be disappointed. After roughly 20 hours of listening to Leeron Sport speaker, I can honestly say I enjoy the sound signature.

This bluetooth speaker sounds pretty good while using it with a Bluetooth connection. It does delivers clear sound. The speaker itself does sound average to slightly above average.

If you’re looking to bring a speaker to an outdoor party where there are no walls for the music to bounce off of, this is a really good option due to how loud it can get.

Battery Life

Whether this is over Bluetooth, AUX or TF card…decide for yourself. On average I’ve been able to push out about 7-8hrs of playback time with mixed usage (Bluetooth/AUX). This may vary for you guys, but 7-8hrs of playback time should be more than sufficient to survive the day. I couldn’t imagine that you’re playing music with this thing 8hrs in a row without some time to charge it up.

What about charging the speaker? It needs 3-4 hours for a full charge.

Functionality

So to the buttons on top of the speaker. The following buttons can be found on the speaker: volume up, volume down, switch-mode and pause button. They all work perfectly fine, really.

The only thing I would’ve liked to see is the volume and the pause buttons working together with your Bluetooth device. If you click pause right now it simply cuts of the energy supply to the speaker. But in reality, whatever you play on your phone, it will continue to do so despite not coming out of the Leeron unit. The volume buttons on this thing also work completely separate from your device. While the sound gets louder while pushing on the volume up button.

It’s always difficult to answer the question whether you should or shouldn’t buy the speaker. It really comes down to your preferences. Do you need an okay sounding speaker, with an IPX7 rating for being water resistant, and pretty good battery life? If so this speaker should definitely be on your list.
