CFP Transceiver for 100GbE Connectivity

Today an overwhelming majority of the 40G/100G traffic running globally, data center and commercial network operators are accelerating the adoption of 100GbE connectivity and transport to meet the bandwidth explosion driven. The CFP transceiver MSA (Multi-Source Agreement) defines a hot-pluggable optical transceiver form-factor for 100Gbps, high-speed Ethernet applications for data and telecommunication networks.

In order to achieve the smaller size, more integrated in-house optical components are used based on leading-edge optical device technologies. In addition, the CFP2 transceiver can optically interoperate with first and second-generation CFP transceivers, which allows customers to quickly and cost-effectively transition to CFP2 designs as market requirements evolve. The CFP2 is designed to be fully compliant with the relevant MSA, IEEE and ITU-T specifications.
